It is with great pleasure that we look forward to hosting this year's 12th Annual Charity Golf Classic! Our committee is working around the clock to see that this year's tournament is the best event ever. This year, we'll be playing the reknowned Rancho Bernardo Inn. For 8 to 10 weeks during each summer, our Club hosts a group of current Notre Dame students who volunteer at local charitable organizations, such as Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, Boys & Girls Club, and ACCION San Diego, in exchange for class credits through the Summer Service Learning Program (SSLP) administered at the University level by the Center for Social Concerns. The SSLP students enjoy a rewarding experience by helping less fortunate individuals in our local community and becoming involved in our Club's many summer activities. Our Club arranges for local families to host the SSLP students and covers a significant portion of each student's summer transportation expenses and, in some instances, food expenses. In addition, there are costs associated with the students' tuition for SSLP, which in the past have been covered through contributions from the charitable organizations, our Club and University scholarships. Your participation in the charity golf weekend enables our Club to maintain the strength of the SSLP and its incredible benefits to our local community.
